Safety Engineer

How we approach projects
At SPARQ we don’t do things by halves. We either take on projects from A to Z or we step in as a coordinating expert. Always with ownership, always with both feet on the ground.

- And your playing field: technical safety (CE, HAZOP/FMEA and ATEX)
Your responsibilities
You are our go-to person for machine safety, with an extra focus on process safety (HAZOP) and explosion safety (ATEX). You work together with Project Engineers, stay close to the client and actually see your advice being implemented.
CE – Machine safety
- Drawing up machine lists and technical construction files
- Performing risk analyses on installations
- Preparing CE declarations of conformity
- Developing budget estimates and clear plans of approach - Providing clients with practical guidance towards CE-compliant installations
ATEX – Explosion safety
- Keeping track of ATEX legislation
- Classifying hazardous (explosive) zones
- Preparing risk analyses and Explosion Protection Documents (EPD)
HAZOP – Process safety
- Analysing and strengthening process designs using P&IDs
- Leading HAZOP sessions with multidisciplinary teams
- Identifying risks and making them manageable
Your SPARQ
- “Safety first” is not a slogan to you but a reflex - Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC? You know it! (ATEX standards (EN 60079) are a strong plus)
- Structure, accuracy and pragmatism: that’s what you exude
- AutoCAD 2D and P&IDs are familiar territory
- Master’s degree as industrial, civil or bio engineer
- You like variety: 40% in Kortrijk, 60% at the client’s site
